Clean energy needs a clean planet: PLAN-B NET ZERO and everwave launch joint initiative

Good start in 2026. PLAN-B NET ZERO is entering into a partnership with Aachen's environmental scale-up Everwave. Under the motto “1 euro = 1 kilogram of trash” We have already been able to start together in Cambodia 10,000 kilograms of waste Are recovered from rivers.

Around 11 million tons of plastic waste end up in the oceans every year. Without effective countermeasures, this figure could almost triple by 2040. Studies show that around 80 percent of plastic waste in the ocean is dumped via around 1.656 rivers worldwide. To date, Everwave has already removed more than 2.4 million kilograms of plastic from rivers in Cambodia, Albania and Thailand. The company uses garbage collection boats, barriers, and manual cleanups to stop plastic before it reaches the oceans. At the same time, mobile sorting and recycling solutions are being used to efficiently return materials to the cycle. With the support of AI, collection routes are being optimized in order to sustainably clean as many bodies of water as possible.

The Partnership began in Cambodia, where the Initiative's Garbage Collection Boats are used in Rivers and Canals around Cities. With this campaign, PLAN-B NET ZERO and everwave want to jointly advance their vision of a clean and sustainable future.

“Together with Everwave, we have already removed 10,000 kilograms of trash from rivers in Cambodia. We want to make the best possible use of our good energy, because without a clean planet, clean energy won't help,” says Julia Schnitger, Head of Marketing at PLAN-B NET ZERO.”

Everwave Implements Cleanup's directly on site and works closely with local authorities and partners. This structure anchors the measures in the regions in the long term and creates measurable impact.
