PLAN-B NET ZERO BESS GmbH builds 280 MW battery storage system in Germany
PLAN-B NET ZERO BESS GmbH is already securing German locations for the future expansion of battery storage systems (Battery Energy Storage Systems, BESS).
“As a result of the rapid expansion of renewable energy sources, Germany has an enormous need for battery storage solutions,” explains Tjark Connor Hennings-Hüp, BESS strategist at the German green energy provider PLAN-B NET ZERO AG. “However, as applications for storage systems are growing even faster than the power grid, Germany needs reliable and competent storage operators. ”
In order to position itself as a reliable and strong partner in the rapidly advancing energy revolution, PLAN-B is already securing space for 100 MW of storage to operate storage containers of 15 to 25 MW each. The next step is to expand to 280 MW. This allows more than 500,000 households to be supplied with electricity under optimal conditions.
Tjark Connor Hennings-Hüp is particularly impressed by the northern federal states: “The network operators in East Frisia, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Brandenburg are expanding their networks at an incredibly rapid pace. This naturally increases the demand for battery storage systems. ”
Battery storage systems are an integral part of PLAN-B NET ZERO AG's business strategy. The company is positioning itself as a fully integrated green energy developer — from photovoltaic systems to their storage in battery systems to feeding into the public power grid — from producers to all households.
As rapidly as the expansion of renewable power generation grows, PLAN-B NET ZERO BESS GmbH is aggressively securing the best locations for battery storage systems.
“The last remaining argument of the — let's call them 'renewable haters — is that the lights go out at night and there is wind,” says young business punk CEO Bradley Mundt. “With our BESS strategy, we are also taking that away from them. We have a stated goal: green electricity for the whole of Germany, day and night. ”
